Loved what I saw. Would love to return to hike trails. Beautiful visitors center. Amazing reserve highlighting the injustices to the families forced out of their homes. Also educating about nature
Gorgeous center with knowledgeable, helpful staff. Cute gift shop. Center open Monday through Saturday 8 - 4:30. Hiking trails well marked and groomed. Ice caves are a more challenging route. Trails allow cross country skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, biking and horseback riding. Over 50 miles of trails total. Highly recommended!
Great hiking trails and the visitor center is so nice! Looks like it was redone recently. Dad
Great place to get back to nature. The reserve has rustic camping and trails. Lots of room to be alone and still take a short trip into town if needed. Been visiting here hunting and camping for 10 years now. Great management and access. Highly recommended even if for the afternoon!
Enjoyed the annual Winter Festival! Lots of fun and educational activities. Will definitely go back to walk the trails.
Beautiful, natural, setting with family learning activites. We enjoy hiking year-round in the reserve.
Visitor center was actually closed this year. Hiking trails starting from there are pleasant and well marked. KVR is a huge area with lots of trails located in a scenic part of the state.
The winter fest heere in KVR is great. Story telling, sled ride, dog races, coloring snow, checkers, archery, etc. There is a little bit of everything for everyone. We came in a cold, windy day and they have small fires set in the ground watched by a volunteer. You can go over and warm up yourself. Great experience for the little ones too.
